I Just Learned to Blog on ActiveRain

I just took one of the ActiveRain live online blog training sessions with Steven.  It was awesome!  I just gained a new respect for the art of blogging and I’m really looking forward to blogging every chance I get.

Thanks Steven for the knowledge and the inspiration.  Now that I just learned to blog, I’m a woman on a mission!  I’ve got a hundred new ideas on topics to blog about, I know what topics to avoid like the plague; I learned about ocular stimulation (I just like how that sounds) how to link, what to link, how much to link and just got a better understanding of the most coveted information of all . . . the mysteries of the Google Page Rank!

Active Rain was my first!  Before Twitter, FaceBook or LinkedIn, I fell in love with ActiveRain. But for years, I just stood by and lurked.  It took me a long time to really get into blogging, but now that I just learned to blog, I’m really excited to get off the fence, learn more and get much more involved.

P.S.  Check out where this blog post  I just learned to blog  just landed!!!

Let’s Help Rancho Cucamonga Think Big With a Gig!

Welcome to Googlemonga

Google is planning to build, and test ultra-high speed broadband networks in a small number of trial locations across the country. Google’s networks will deliver Internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today with 1 gigabit per second, fiber-to-the-home connections. Google plans to offer service at a competitive price to at least 50,000, and potentially up to 500,000 people.

As a first step, Google put out a Request for Information (RFI) to help identify interested communities. Google welcomed responses from local government, as well as members of the public.  When another Agent here on Active Rain announced that Google was it about 14 days ago, I immediately nominated our City of Rancho Cucamonga.

Welcome to Googlemonga

Google is also looking for sites where it can deploy this network quickly and efficiently. Competition will be fierce for this new technology. Let’s support our City.   The on-line process for nominating Rancho Cucamonga for Google’s Fiber for Communities project is easy! To elect Rancho Cucamonga for this project, visit this page to learn more and check out this video:

But don’t forget to submit your nomination form to Google. The more nominations submitted, the more likely Google will realize that Rancho Cucamonga should be the City they select. So, be sure you pass this post along to tell your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to nominate Rancho Cucamonga too!
